Of mixed ancestry (Cree, Ojibway, Assiniboine, Irish, English, Scottish and French), Jordan Wheeler is a member of Gordons First Nation. A second-generation media artist, Wheeler began writing professionally in 1982. He’s written several books, including Just a Walk and Brothers in Arms, and written, story-edited and, more recently, show run television dramas, including North of 60 and renegadepress.com. His work has been nominated for several awards, and he won a Gemini for Best Writing in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series in 2007.
