Where else in town do you get to see zany circus acts, high strung acrobatics, comic daredevils, pure artistry, absurdity and foolishness – plus unique musical performances by international artists. Only at the 27th annual Kidsfest – that’s where!

Festival Executive Producer Neal Rempel is totally pumped about this year’s group of artists.  “We’ve got so many great new acts coming this year – it’s really a great mix of music, theatre, and comedy for kids – I think it’s the best one we’ve ever offered!”  Rempel singled out several acts as “must-see” attractions including Grand Dérangement, an eclectic musical group from Nova Scotia, Udi Grudi from Brazil performing comic musical eccentrics, Asani, a contemporary Aboriginal trio from Alberta and El Gleno  Grande from West Virginia with his spoof of a circus equestrian.

Back by popular demand is the interactive venue called “Artists & Audiences – Bridging the Gap”.  Headline festival artists and groups are scheduled to offer hands-on workshops throughout the four day event.  “We offering kids the chance to experience flying through the air on a swinging trapeze…” Rempel enthused, “and they can learn some cool magic tricks, try some step-dancing moves and make music on all kinds of silly things – it’s a guaranteed ton of fun!”

Performers from around the world entertain and educate through music, theatre, comedy, storytelling and a variety of hands-on activities.  A guaranteed great time – rain or shine!
