The sun is important – it provides us with heat, warmth, light and life for plants and trees. But it also produces harmful Ultraviolet (UV) rays. It is estimated the 90% of all skin cancers could be prevented. To reduce your risk, follow these SunSense guidelines:

• Slip on clothing that covers your arms and legs.
• Slap on a wide brimmed hat. • Slop on sunscreen.
• Wear sunglasses to protect our eyes.
• Stay in the shade when the sun is the strongest (between 11 am and 4 pm)
• Find/Make shade to play or sit in.
• Babies should be kept out of the sun because their skin is very sensitive
